What Participants Are Saying

‘The workshop was amazing, informative, inspiring and took me on an adventure of a lifetime, it was truly a story on its own! I left with a deeper understanding of what makes a children’s story truly captivating, and with renewed confidence to continue developing my own stories.’

Palesa Xulu

‘The Chapters for Children workshop was amazing! There is loads of information out there about writing, but Refiloe is skilled at making it all so simple and accessible. The course was engaging – we took examples from current children’s literature, we dissected our favourite books and movies and even worked on our own stories! Highly recommend this workshop!’

Sadiyya Sheik

‘The workshop with Refiloe provided me with the tools I needed to get started in writing for middle grade. I’ve learned about the elements that make great stories and have gained confidence to start working on the ideas I have and get my stories out there. What particularly stood out for me and changed the way I approach story telling and the material I read were the Inner Child exercises Refiloe took us through … (I’ve kept my inner child hidden for so long, but these workshops may have actually awakened her) …’

Lerato Mahlangu

‘I went into the Chapters for children workshop hoping to gain some insight into becoming a published author. Each week of the workshop was packed with incredible information that helped steer my work towards my desired goal. The host, an established author, Refiloe Moahloli approached each session with compassion and kindness. She was generous with information and was always keen to answer any questions about our concerns.’

Mbali Ndlovu

‘Refiloe has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. The tips and insights offered were beneficial and she has inspired me to put pen to paper and get the ideas flowing.’ Hannah Gardiner

‘The workshop [Way of Water], in more ways than one, exceeded my expectations. It was an invitation to introspect, to fill myself up, sit with my feelings – acknowledge them and write from there – without trying to suppress or “suit” them for an audience. This kind of honesty, I learned, is what will fuel my journey as a writer.’

 Limakatso Gwangwa

‘I had a fantastic experience at The Way of Water Writers’ Workshop. It was very informative, creative, and catered to both beginners and those who have already started their writing journey. The combination of practical advice and creative exploration provided valuable insights while answering many of my questions.’

Zonke Ndlangamandla

‘I LOVED this workshop and can highly recommend it to everyone who dreams about writing a children’s book …’
